  1. Box Arcade Work Day - Highland Fling

    July 26, 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM @ Splash Pad

    Want your child to stay engaged in learning? The Box Arcade help keep their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) brains stimulated! A Work Day will be held: July 26 12:00-2:30 p.m. at the Splash Pad by City Hall. Kids will be able to gather supplies and start working on their arcade game. Games will be displayed at the Fling Kids Night on August 2. Prizes will be awarded and winners will also get to ride on a float in the Parade!     Don't miss the 2017 Highland Fling Kickoff Event as we celebrate Highland City’s 40th Anniversary, you will get excited to enjoy a week of festivities, discover what a Ruby Jubilee is, and what it means to “Celebrate our Past and Look to the Future!” This even features an amazing combination of music, inspiring words and mixed media presentation by David Dalley Jr. David, or Bubba, as he was affectionately known by while growing up in Highland. Davis is now an Instructional Designer who has been working in media production for almost 20 years. While David did not solely grow up in Highland, it is Highland that he considers home and in his words, “living in Highland was life changing for me.” His Dalley family roots run deep on the Highland farmlands and his father still lives in Highland today.   3. Trilogy Disc Golf Challenge Tournament

    July 31, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Beacon Hill Park Disc Golf Course

    Come try out the Beacon Hill Park Disc Golf Course as one of the popular activities of the Highland Fling. The course features a wide open front nine in a park setting and a very challenging "Outback Nine." Both red and blue tee options are available throughout the course and offer incredible views of Utah Valley, Utah Lake, and the Rocky Mountains that surround the cities of Highland and Alpine. The course features large expanses of open grass, natural fields, established scrub oak forests, and bluffs overlooking a (usually) dry creek, all perfect for hucking discs into well placed baskets. Registration is open to everyone. The Trilogy Challenge is your chance to prove your skill with a level playing field in regards to discs. Players are only allowed to play in the tournament with the three 2017 discs they receive in their player pack; if a disc is lost during the round, they must finish the round without it. Players get everything they need to play disc golf for only $35!

    Movie Feature is: Moana Enjoy a family night Polynesian Style! Wear your Aloha attire and come enjoy Polynesian music and a visit from Moana herself! Moana will dance and teach about the spirit of the islands and be available to visit and take photos! Purchase a Polynesian dinner and Hawaiian Shaved Ice from vendors then find a great spot to watch Moana! The feature movie is rated PG and is 113 minutes.
