 Mountainland Child Care Resource and Referral

Child Care Resource and Referral is a state agency funded by federal monies administered by the Office of Child Care. There are six agencies throughout the state of Utah and each has a college, university, state, or family agency as its fiscal agent. For the licensed and certified child care providers and centers we offer free referrals to parents seeking child care, child development training classes that meet the stat annual licensing requirement of twenty training hours, the career ladder program and training and longevity supplement, start up grants for home providers, and Quality Improvement Grants and consultations for both home and center providers. UTA Bus Route from Pleasant Grove to Salt Lake City

UTA has opened bus route #807 with direct express bus service from Pleasant Grove to downtown SLC at 5:54 am and 6:24 am, reaching downtown SLC at 7:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. The return times traveling southbound from downtown SLC back to Pleasant Grove are at 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., reaching Pleasant Grove at 5:14 p.m. and 5:44 p.m. The cost of a one-way express bus fare is $3.25 or a monthly unlimited express bus pass is $107.00. Community Action Services and Food Bank
Community Action Services and Food Bank (CAS) has served the low-income population of the Mountainland area (Utah, Wasatch and Summit Counties) since 1967 and has extensive experience in the operation of moderate and low-income programs. The agency is a 501(c)(3) private non-profit tax exempt organization. The agency's purpose is to assist the disadvantaged in meeting critical basic needs (food, housing, etc.) while working with families on a long-term basis to help them to increase their potential for financial and social self-sufficiency. The agency's mission is to promote self-reliance in individuals, families and communities. 
 
Our services include, the Community Action Services Food Bank, food pantries across Utah, Wasatch, and Summit Counties, Youth Programs, HEAT/Utility program, Family Development Services, HUD certified Home Buyer and Mortgage Counseling Program, and outreach to the elderly and disabled.
 
The Community Action Services Food Bank is the second largest food bank in Utah, distributing more than 2 million pounds of food annually to thousands of people and many local service organizations. We operate six food pantry locations throughout Utah, Wasatch, and Summit Counties.

Obesity is an epidemic facing millions of Americans and is increasing in drastic numbers each year.  The number of Utahns battling obesity doubled from 10 percent in 1989 to over 20 percent in 2003.  Heart disease has become the number one killer in Utah and last year taxpayers spent $167 per person in medical costs related to obesity.  As a state, we can do better!  That's why the Utah Summer Games and the Check Your Health Partners (IHC, KUTV2 and Utah Department of Health) have created the "Get Active Utah!"
