Volunteering In Highland City
Do you feel pride in our community? Would you like to give back to your community through volunteerism? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, join us and become a shining star in your community! See the specific project and contact information below.

Pumpkin Walk
Volunteers will assist in handing out candy and other prizes to trick-or-treaters at the City's annual Pumpkin Walk on October 30 and 31 from 6:30-9:30 PM. Contact Julie Tapusoa at 801-772-4507 or .

Gardening Sites

Volunteers will assist with improving neighborhood entrances with tasks such as planting new color spots, adding mulch, raking, weeding, trimming, watering, and general maintenance. There are multiple sites available for adoption including:
  • Highland Boulevard
  • Windsor Meadows
  • Larson Park

There are also more jobs available as a part of the Beautification Committee such as organizing back yard garden tours, yard-of-the-month awards, & implementing new programs. Contact Laura Dawson at 801-310-1009.

Campground Cleanup
There is a campground and park at the mouth of American Fork Canyon that has fallen into disrepair. City Council has asked staff to clean it up and get it ready to allow rentals and overnight camping. There are a few main projects that need to be completed and could use the help of volunteers:
  • Build, sand, stain, and attach wooden picnic table tops to metal frames in 5 picnic areas. Those picnic areas also need to be cleared of small trees and bushes.
  • Clean and dig out the fire pit. Seating around the fire pit also needs to be added.
  • Build a bridge for access across a small stream.
  • Create a camp area for tents by clearing out the area and spreading gravel.
