Benson family

Nels Rudger and Viola Eugenia Roundy Benson:  The Benson’s lived in Highland only for a short while.  Viola was living with her parents in Highland in 1920 and Nels was a Sunday School teacher beginning in 1923.  They married June 11, 1925 and apparently moved shortly after that.  They were in Salt Lake City at the 1930 census.

Nels was born July 12, 1898 in Spring City, Utah to Nels and Mary E Benson and was still living there in 1920.  His WWI draft record in 1918 shows him as a farmer.  Viola was born April 21, 1903 in Benson, Cache County, Utah to Samuel H and Eugenia Elmyra Taylor Roundy (q.v.).  They had five children: Elmo Roundy, Cherril, Mary J, Eldon Samuel and David Richard.  When Nels registered for the WWII draft he was working for Utah Power and Light.  Viola died March 22, 1959 in Salt Lake City and Nels died January 1, 1962, also in Salt Lake.  They are buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
