Richard Thomas and Annie Clara Thompson Withers:  The Withers family spent a brief time in Highland, arriving in 1923.  They were living in Salt Lake City in 1920 and in Draper in 1930.  Richard was born March 3, 1895 in Farmington, Utah to Richard and Sarah Winter Withers.  He served in the Army from November 1, 1917 until June 26, 1919, serving overseas for nine months of that time. 

Richard and Annie married on August 21, 1919 in the Logan Temple.  She was born May 11, 1896 in Draper to Soren and Christina Knudsen Thompson.  They had ten children: Richard Calvin, Gordon Elbert, Daryl LaRae, LaMar Thompson, Dorothy, Dona Ileen, Melvin Jay, Ralph, Darlene Clara and Iretta.  Annie died May 19, 1980 in Draper and Richard died July 5, 1987, also in Draper and they are buried in the Larkin Sunset Garden.
