Summer Reading Registration Begins May 28th!

Reading Challenge for Children 0-11.

  • Follow the "Register for Programs" button below. (Only Highland City Library Cardholders.  If your home library is different, please enjoy their summer reading program!)  Choose the right age group and enter your child’s information.
  • You will get a confirmation email. Follow the link on it to print a Summer Reading Chart.
  • Choose your reading goal. Decide with your child how many minutes they will read/be read to each day.
  • Mark on the chart each time you reach your goal. If you miss one day, you can do extra on another day.  
  • When you get to a "Land of" icon, come to the Library to get a small prize from our toy machines. There will be a different prize each week!
  • Turn in your finished chart starting July 27th to get a FREE BOOK!

Activity Challenge for Children 0-5

  • Print the Summer Reading Challenge bookmark from the confirmation email. (see above)
  • For every 5 activities you complete from the back of the reading chart, collect a cool sticker! See how many you can collect!

Activity Challenge for Children 6-11

  • Print the Summer Reading Challenge bookmark from the confirmation email. (see above)
  • Come to the Library and get a lanyard from our toy vending machine.
  • For every 5 activities you complete from the back of the reading chart, collect a cool pin! See how many you can collect!

Summer Reading for Teens and Adults

  • Follow the "Register for Programs" button below.  Choose the right age group and enter your information.
  • Register online. (Only Highland City Library Cardholders. If your home library is different, please enjoy their summer reading program!)
  • There will be a link to the Activity Challenge bookmark in the confirmation email.  Print it off.
  • Have fun doing the activities! Check off activities on your bookmark.
  • Bring your log to the Library starting July 27th, and receive an entry ticket for our end of summer drawing for the first five activities you have completed, and an additional one for every 10 activities you complete after that.
  • Put your tickets in the entry boxes for the items you would like to have a chance to win. The drawing will be August 3rd.
  • You might not win your first choice, but everyone who enters will win a prize.
