Galyn Elton & Jeanne Myers Blackburn

This couple married very young - Gayln was just seventeen and Jeanne was 18 ½. They first lived in Tooele and Galyn worked at the Tooele Ordinance Depot. After having three children: Jeanne, Roy and Scott, they built a home on an acre of ground in Highland (Number 59 on the 1958 Highland map -10531 N Alpine Highway). About three years later they moved to Alpine. They added twin girls later: Lisa and Lori. Gayln was born Mar 22, 1930, in Magna to Claude P. and Amy Isabel Elton Blackburn. He went to school in Tooele and Salt Lake before his family moved to American Fork where he completed his schooling. Jeanne was born November 2, 1928, in Highland to Gilbert Yost and Elizabeth Grace Kitchen Myers. She also graduated from A F high school where she played violin in the orchestra and French horn in the marching band. Gayln worked many years at the Utah State Prison. He died January 22, 2016.
