Hoover

Clifton Webster & Jean Barker Hoover

They lived at Number 44 (on the 1958 Highland map) for a number of years but little history has been left. Clifton was born August 14, 1899, in Provo, Utah to Webster and Ruby May Holdaway Hoover. He enlisted in the Army on May 7, 1917, and was discharged on August 24, 1917. On July 5, 1918, he married Phoebe Delvene Field who was born November 3, 1900, and they were together on the 1920 census with a son, Clifton Bruce, born May 2, 1919, but they apparently later divorced. The son, Clifton, later was held as a POW in Japan during WWII.

Jean was born January 21, 1918, in Panguitch, Utah to James Arthur and Isabelle Gavin Barker. They were married November 15, 1935, in Fillmore, Utah and had four children: Arthur, Ronald, Sheila and Sandra. They are listed in the 1940 census in Richfield, Utah. They lived in Highland during the 1950's.

Clifton died March 24, 1979, in Fruitland, Utah and Jean died June 18, 1970.
