Jones
Robert Washington & Mary Ann Winn Jones
Robert was born in 1857 to Charles Fredrick and Hannah Rose Jones. After his father died in 1871 his mother married John Whiting and he lived with them in Highland. In 1879 he married Mary Ann, eldest daughter of Edward and Mary Ann Winn (q.v.). She was born November 9, 1861, in London, England. They had at least nine children: Rose V, Mary Ann (Mae), Keith W., Charles Ver, Edward D., Clyde and three other (unnamed) children who died in the diphtheria epidemic of 1893. Mary Ann also lost three siblings in that epidemic. Robert was very active in the Branch and did a lot of good here in Highland. In 1910 they were living in Twin Falls, Idaho and when she died on July 19, 1946, she was in Garden Grove, California. Robert died Jan 3. 1954.
