Franklin Ferdinand & Bertha Rose Loader Nelson
Frank was born February 9, 1883, in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Ferdinand Franz Oscar and Mary Mayhew Nelson. Bertha was born November 16, 1886, in Pleasant Grove to Harry King and Annie Pierce Loader. They were married December 6, 1905, and had five children: Frank Delmore, Harry Elwood, Ivan Elroy, Ruth Bernice, and Helen Bertha.
Lower Power Plant
In 1910 and 1920 they were living in Pleasant Grove and their records came to Highland in 1923. He worked at the power plant at the mouth of American Fork Canyon so it is presumed they lived there, but only for a short while. In 1918, when he registered for the WWI draft he was working at the power plant. Frank died March 1, 1958, in Pleasant Grove and Bertha died December 16, 1971, also in Pleasant Grove and they are buried in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
Raymond Elijah & Anna Christine Hansen Nelson
Here's another power plant operator in Highland (Number 68 on the 1958 Highland map) in 1920. Raymond was born August 30, 1888, in Pleasant Grove, Utah Territory to Ferdinand Franz Oscar and Mary Mayhew Nelson, younger brother of Franklin (q.v.). Anna was born January 1, 1890, in Hjelmsted, Denmark to Niels Christian and Johanna Kristensen Hansen. She came to America in 1894 and in 1910 was living in Lehi. That same year she married Raymond on July 12. They had two children: Howard Raymond and Keith Emmett.
After a few years in Highland, they moved to Lehi where they were in 1930, 1935 and 1940. Raymond died in Pleasant Grove October 14, 1976, and Anna Died October 16, 1978, in Provo and they are buried in the Lehi City Cemetery.
