Charles Milton & Zelpha Paya Roberts Pitts
They lived in Highland for just a short time but they are mentioned as teachers in the Sunday School, along with their daughter Ethel Mae. Charles was born April 12, 1885, in Little River, Kansas to Abel Emery and Emma T. Mitchell Pitts. Zelpha was born September 18, 1886, in Kansas to George Paya and Anna Hazelwood Roberts. They were married September 16, 1903, in Kansas and were living in Nebraska in 1910. By 1920 they had moved to Tyhee, Idaho and in 1930 were in Provo. They were in Highland in 1921 - 23. They had three children: Clara Louise, Ethel Mae, and Milton Emery. Ethel was a Sunday School teacher in 1923 as a teenager.
Charles and Zelpha apparently divorced because she married Henry van Wagenen Smith on May 1, 1935, and Charles died December 23, 1949, in Salt Lake City. Zelpha, died July 3, 1956, in Salt Lake City and they are buried in Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
