Sundstrom

Carl John Hyrum & Jenny Isabella Borgeson Sundstrom

Having three given names makes it easy to make a positive identification. Carl was born May 19, 1881, in Salina, Utah Territory to Karl August and Emma Eriksson Sundstrom. On January 15, 1902, he married Helena Louise Hendrickson, daughter of Andrew and Maria Jadda Henderson, born July 31, 1875, in Sweden. They had one child: Edna Marie who died at birth, then seven days later, April 17, 1907, Helena died of Bright's disease.

Carl married Jenny March 18, 1908, and she had a child (apparently out of wedlock), Norma Selena, and together they had nine children: Lexie Virginia, Hazel Odette, Clara Amelia, Elsie LaRee, Emma Necoline, Carl Andrew, Harvey Leland, Harvey Julius, and Clifford Emanuel.  Jenny was born May 17, 1883, in Santaquin, Utah Territory to Andrew and Necoline Emily Borgeson. They were included in the original membership of the Highland Ward in 1915. In 1910 they were living in Santaquin and in 1920 in Salt Lake City. At his 1918 draft registration, Carl was living in Sandy and working at the Midvale Smelter. Jenny died April 24, 1923, leaving six children under the age of fourteen (three children predeceased her) and she died three days after the birth of her youngest son. He lived only five months. Carl died March 17, 1935, in Pocatello, Idaho and he and Jenny are buried together in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
