Charles Ethelbert & Amanda Irene Cox Watson

They moved to Highland around 1912 and were still living here at the 1920 census. Charlie was born March 10, 1877, in Battersea, Wandsworth, London, England to Shadrach Charles and Kezia Chapman Watson. Amanda was born March 11, 1880, in Fairview, Utah Territory to Fred Walter and Nancy Irene Sanders Cox.

They were married January 7, 1903, in the Manti, Utah Temple and moved to Alberta, Canada shortly after and lived there for a few years. At the 1910 census they were living in Orem, Utah. They had thirteen children: Charles Walter, Ada, Elvira, Ida Grace, Belva Ruth, Alma Gerald, twins Erva Irene and Eva Ione, Sanders Chapman, Clyde Ethelbert, Leroy Alfred, Edward George, and Mary Lucile. Charlie and his daughter, Elvira served in the Highland Sunday School in the early 1920's.

By 1930 they had moved to Mesa, Arizona where they remained for the rest of their lives. Charlie spent seventeen years as custodian of the Mesa Temple. Irene died June 25, 1939, and Charlie remained until July 14, 1951. They are buried in the Mesa Cemetery.
