Pinkerman

Wiley Emory & Rita Chidester Pinkerman

Emory, as he was called, was a member of the Highland Ward briefly in 1934. He was born November 16, 1930, in Ohio to James Elmer and Bertha Massie Pinkerman. He enlisted in the Army March 29, 1924, and was discharged May 22, 1928, and in 1930 he was living in San Francisco, California.

In 1931 Emory married Rita, daughter of James Madison and Cornelia Terry Chidester, sister of James Earl Chidester (q.v.) who came to Highland at about the same time. Rita was born August 28, 1906, in Richfield, Utah and they were married April 18, 1931, in Ogden, Utah. They had three children: Gene Emory, Irene, and James Keith. In 1935 they were living in Salt Lake City and in 1940 they were in Columbus, Ohio. They both died in 1983, in Apache Junction, Arizona; Rita on June 11 and Emory on November 30. They are buried in the Mesa, Arizona City Cemetery.
