Austin & Emily Cleo Mortensen Olsen

Austin was born September 30, 1897, in Ferron, Utah to James Frederick and Cornelia Wrigley Olsen. In 1917 he was in the Army and a year later was in France where he was wounded at the Argonne Forest. He was discharged July 15, 1919, and four months later, November 26, he married Emily. She was born April 16, 1898, in Emery, Utah to George Q. and Emily Margaret Quinn Mortensen, one of seventeen children of her father by his two wives.

Austin and Emily had two children: Maxine and Lee Ray. In 1920 they were living in Emery and moved to Highland in 1923 and by 1930 were living in Rochester, Utah, then in 1942, when he registered for the WWII draft, they were in Moore, Utah and he was farming and driving school bus.

Emily died July 8, 1960, in Price, Utah and Austin died October 3, 1973, in Carbon. They are buried in the Price City Cemetery.
