Jenkins

Minnie Poole Jenkins

Minnie was one of twin daughters born to John and Sarah Poole in 1857, when they were living in Ogden. She married John A. Jenkins in 1878 and about a year later he was killed in a farming accident. The 1880 census showed her living with her parents in Highland with her 6 month old son.

In January, 1881, she received a patent on the northwest quarter of sec 36, 160 acres directly northeast of her parents homestead. There is no evidence that she ever lived on her homestead and it is unknown how long she lived with her parents. She married Daniel M. Torpey in 1889 and in 1900 was living in Salt Lake City.
