Hunter
(Number 89 on the 1958 Highland map - 9998 N 6000 W)
Ernest Greenwood & Hazel Buker Hunter
The Hunters lived in Highland in 1930 and 1935 in two different homes, Number 29 and Number 89 (on the 1958 Highland map) but the chronology is confusing. In 1925 they owned the 46 acres at Number 89 and leased it to Hugo Reimschiissel (q.v.) for one year. Probably the Hunters moved in then from Number 29. Ern, as he was known, was born March 14, 1878, in Orderville, Utah Territory to William Wallace and Rachel Greenwood Hunter. Hazel was born in Alpine, Utah, June 15, 1895, to William Henry and Adelaide Laure Andrews Buker.
They were married September 5, 1916, and in 1918, when he registered for the draft, they were in American Fork and he was a farmer and stock raiser. They were also living in American Fork at the 1920 census. They had two children: Ernest W. and Bertrand M. In the 1940 census and in 1942 when he registered for the draft, Ern was living alone in American Fork. Apparently Ern and Hazel were divorced, as he married Sarah Ruth Losee April 27, 1944. She was born July 29, 1878, to Isaac and Mary Miranda Davis Losee. Ern died March 25, 1953, in American Fork. Hazel died March 22, 1986.
