City Council Brief

Council Brief for November 13:
  • Youth City Council Mayor Miranda Mugelston provided a brief to the Council regarding past events and announced their plans for a Sub for Santa. 
  • Library Director Donna Cardon thanked the Bank of American Fork for their generous donation. 
  • President and Water Master of American Fork Irrigation Ernie John informed the Council of lower than normal flows and asked the Council to educate residents of mandatory water restrictions. 
  • Water Advisory Board Chair Tavis Timothy provided recommendations for water conservation and Dry Creek pressurized water storage. 
  • City Council approved minutes from October 2nd and 16th.
  • City Council approved the 2019 City Council Annual Meeting Schedule.
  • City Council approved the Mountain Ridge Park Board Appointments.
  • City Council approved the Market Analysis Technical Advisory Committee Appointments.
  • City Council approved the contract with Blu Line Design, Inc for the design of Mountain Ridge Park.
  • City Council approved an amendment to the Interlocal Agreement with Utah Valley Dispatch.
  • The application for Open Space Disposal in the Wimbleton Subdivision was WITHDRAWN by the applicant.
  • City Council approved the disposal of 12 acres of City owned property.
  • City Council approved an inter-library loan fee of $3 per item beginning December 1, 2018.
  • City Council approved an increase from $40 to $70 for the non-resident Library card fee.
  • Fred Philpot with Lewis Young Robertson & Burningham, Inc provided a report regarding the general fund. He recommended increasing property taxes in order to sustain operations and maintenance costs. 
  • Mayor/Council and Staff Discussion and Communication Items included a discussion regarding open space encroachment. Council Members recommended that each person receive a letter form the City Attorney to stop and inform them of the consequences of encroachment.
