Canyon Oaks Campground is located at approximately 4000 West 11000 North (north side of S.R. 92 east of the PI pond and west of the mouth of American Fork Canyon), and is available for private rental.  Please review the Park Pavilion and Campground Reservation Rules for approved use along with the Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement, and Fee Schedule for rental rates.  

Canyon Oaks Park amenities include:

  • Park size is approximately 1 acre.
  • Parking lot may accommodate around 35 vehicles.
  • Check-in time is 3:00 p.m.
  • Check-out time is 2:00 p.m.
  • Available areas for tents may accommodate between 5-8 tents depending on size (see available pictures to determine specific groups abilities or contact us for more information).
  • Mature shade trees.
  • NO drinking fountains or water available.  Water will need to be packed in to site. 
  • Please DO NOT enter the river.  The water can be dangerous depending on the time of year.  The river is privately owned.
  • NO garbage receptacles are available at Canyon Oaks campground.  Pick up all trash, bottles, cans, paper, etc., and take bagged trash with you when you are finished.
  • Camp fires are ONLY allowed within designated fire pit.  If you choose to have a camp fire you must have a fire extinguisher or bucket of water on hand in the event of an emergency.
  • Seven (7) night camping limit is imposed within Canyon Oaks Campground.

Large groups exceeding 200 individuals or groups with unusual requests will need to contact the City for special arrangements as a special event permit may be required. Groups playing music must conform to the Highland City Noise Ordinance 8.16.100 (quiet hours 10:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. for residential areas). Reservations may be cancelled on-site due to excessive noise by the Lone Peak Police Department or by otherwise not adhering to Park Rules.

Once you complete the reservation request, you will receive an auto-generated email confirming your request has been submitted, which will be followed up with additional details from the processing clerk within a few business days.  

Rental fees are as follows:

  • Governmental agencies – $25 per day
  • Non-Profit Entities - $25 per day
  • Highland City Residents - $25 per day
  • Non-Highland City Residents - $50 per day

Fee payment is required within five (5) business days following the detailed email from Highland City's processing clerk. If reservation payment is not received, or approved payment arrangements made, the approval is withdrawn and the reserving party loses their pending reservation.  

If the reservation needs to be cancelled, payment will be refunded to the original form of payment provided the cancellation is made with at least five (5) days' notice to processing clerk.  Cancellations after this time will not be eligible for a refund.
