Poetry Month Competition

  2. Rules and Restrictions

    This competition is open to Highland, Cedar Hills and Alpine residents who have Highland City Library cards. Each participant may enter up to three poems. Fill out a separate form for each poem. Poems must be original and the sole work of the participant. Parents/guardians can type and correct spelling of children's entries, but cannot otherwise change their content. Poems must fit on one printed page, at least 11 point font. Poems must be appropriate for all audiences. The contest judges reserve the right to disqualify any entry they deem inappropriate. All decisions of the judges are final. Children may include an illustration done by them with each poem if they like, but poems will be judged on their own merit. Poems must be submitted by April 30, 2021. Winners will be notified by May12th.

  3. Submission Guidelines

    Each person may submit up to three poems. Fill out one form per submission. Poems and/or illustrations must be submitted as either a pdf or Word document. Include the last name of the participant as part of the name of the file. (e.g. Harris poem 1, or Peterson illustration for poem 2 or Poem A Brighter Way by Smith)
