2018 Kids Night 

Kids Night Event Held
: Wednesday, August 1
Time: 6:30 p.m. (6:00 p.m. check in if submitting cardboard challenge)
Place: Town Center Splash Pad (5400 W. Civic Center Dr.)
Cost: Bike Race, Rocket Building/Launches & Cardboard Challenge are Free, face painting and food vendors will be available for purchase.

Come join us at the Town Center Plaza (splash pad) for Kids Night & Cardboard Challenge/Rocket Launch Event! There will be free activities for the kids including a bike race, and our 2nd Cardboard Challenge in which youth of Elementary School age can submit a creation made from cardboard and other recycled materials with a space theme. Bring your swimsuits, in case you need to cool off at the splash pad! 

**Shoes, helmets and your own bike are required for the bike race!

Space Cardboard Challenge Rules

1. Must be Elementary School Aged to submit a space creation.  

2. Please use an adult to assist with cutting boxes and using hot glue or other potentially dangerous tools during the production of your space creation.  The project should primarily be the idea and creation of the kid!  

3. Any cardboard or other recycled materials can be used.

5. Try to use art of any kind to make your creation more visually interesting.  

6.  Bonus points for moving parts!

7.  Individuals, pairs or groups can create and submit.  

8.  Have fun!

Water Bottle Rockets are in addition to your space creation and can be made onsite at Kids Night. 

Work Day:
July 18th - 12:00pm - 2:00pm at the Splash Pad by Highland City Hall 5400 W Civic Center Dr. 
If you want to get supplies and/or get working on your project join us for a work day.  We will have a variety of boxes and cardboard along with art supplies.  We will have volunteers to assist with cutting cardboard.

6:00 Check in & Set Up
6:30 Judging & Space Cardboard Creation Displays
6:30 Rocket Building & Launches
7:00 Bike Races
8:00 Prizes & Awards Ceremony

Winners of the Bike Race and Cardboard Challenge are invited to walk or ride their bikes/scooters during the Highland Fling Parade on Saturday morning, Aug 4th 

 Mountain Point Medical Center.  Cookies provided by Meiers Meats & Fine Foods.
