The art show is a traditional feature of the annual city celebration and serves to showcase the work of artists in our community. Join us for this inspiring event and enjoy viewing examples of some of Highland City’s finest artists on Friday and Saturday.  

Art Show Held: Friday & Saturday, August 3 - 4
Time: Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Place: Highland City Community Center, (former city hall, 5378 W. 10400 N.)
Cost: Free to view

Participant Registration: Tuesday, July 31, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Place: Highland City Community Center, (former city offices, 5378 W. 10400 N.)
Cost: $3, Youth; $6, adult; per art piece, pay upon entry 

Fine Art Show Reception
This special evening is set aside for the Fine art show participants and their families.
Event Held: Thursday, August 2
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Place: Highland City Community Center, (former city offices, 5378 W. 10400 N.)

Media Categories:  Oil, Water Media, Mixed Media, Drawing (hand drawn and computer generated), Chalk/Pastel, Photography, Sculpture, and Woodworking.

Divisions: Professional Adult, Amateur Adult, High School, Junior High, Intermediate (4th-6th grades), Primary (1st-3rd grades, Kindergarten and Preschool).

Entry Information
: Adult entries must be framed in all media categories.  Youth/children entries must be framed, matted or mounted on card-stock.  Framed artwork must have a wire extended across the back and be securely anchored to a screw-eye on each side of the frame.  This accommodates our handing system and insures the safety of your artwork during the show.  Please help us make the registration process run efficiently by doing this before you come to register. 

Awards: 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and Honorable Mention cash awards in each category.

Peoples' Choice Award- selected by the viewing public

Artwork Released:  Saturday, August 4 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.  All artwork must be picked up during this time. A $5 late fee will be applied to those who do not pick up artwork during this time.  Late items may be paid for and picked up from the Arts Council.

Every effort will be made to keep your artwork safe, but please be aware that there is no guarantee due to unforeseen accidents.

There will be hand-painted greeting cards available to purchase and a silent auction to help raise funds for the Arts Council which is a 501(3)c non-profit organization. The Arts Council depends on donations to provide arts opportunities for our community.

There will also be art for sale at the show. Interested artists should bring their art (ready to hang) to the Community Center  Monday, August 1st from 4-6pm.
