George William Cherrington-Hyrum Harmon sister-built 1902,  (#9 on the 1958 Highland map, where Freedom Elementary stands - interactivelarger 6751 W. 10400 N.

George William and Anna Harmon Cherrington:  George was born May 25, 1862, in Salt Lake City to John and Sarah Cherrington.  Anna was born August 25, 1860, daughter of Appleton Milo and Elmeda Stringham Harmon.  They were married July 20, 1888.  They had seven children: George Philip, Luella, Alice, Alfred, Kenneth, Myra, and Daisy, the last two being born in Highland.  They moved to Highland and built #9 (on the 1958 Highland map, where Freedom Elementary stands - interactivelarger), George was a carpenter by trade,  in 1902 and lived there until about 1915.  There is a discrepancy in that date as another history stated that Harvey Speer lived in that home around 1906 to 1914, but there were school pictures taken about 1914 or 1915 that have three Cherrington children identified.
Anna was a sister to Hyrum Harmon (q.v.). Anna died January 31, 1931, of influenza and pneumonia in Bountiful and George died September 17, 1946, in Panguitch, Utah of senility.  They are buried in the Bountiful, Utah City Cemetery. [Find a Grave]   [Names in Stone]
