Woods & Wortley

Tobe Woods: That name in the Highland history doesn’t connect with anyone, but I found a Malcolm Tobias Woods, born February 10, 1855, in Beri, Clay County, Missouri to Adam C. and Mary Wilson Woods.  He lived in American Fork in 1870 and Alpine in 1910, 1920 and 1930.  He was married to Louisa Blood, born December 28, 1861, in Salt Lake City to George H. and Sarah Sophia Franks Blood.  She also lived in American Fork in 1870 and 1880.  They were married November 16, 1884, and had three children: Archie Ray, Leonard, and Grace.  She died October 13, 1931, in Alpine and he died April 12, 1939, also in Alpine.  They are buried in the American Fork City Cemetery.

Joseph Hyrum and Maria Hansen Worley:  Early Highland settlers, the Worleys were on the 1900 census little other information can be found. Joseph was born March 26, 1846, in Missouri to Henry Worley. Maria (Mary) was born in 1864 in Denmark. They were married in 1883 and had eight children: Albert, Annie Eliza, Lydia, Mary, Ruby Ethel, Pearl T., Henry G., and J. Klebor. Mary died July 7, 1902, in American Fork and Joseph died January 15, 1919, in Salt Lake City. They are buried in the American Fork City Cemetery.
