Recreation 
Highland City runs one recreation program, Hooked on Fishing.  Highland Residents are able to participate in Cedar Hills City Recreation programs for no additional non-resident fees. Many programs are provided by our Highland City Library and the Highland Arts Council.  Visit their pages for more information.

Park Pavilion Reservations
The Park Pavilion Reservation Calendar opens up each year on the first business day of January (January 2, 2019) at 8:00 a.m.  Please go to the Park Pavilion Reservation page for more information.

Christmas Tree Pick-Up
Christmas tree pickup was scheduled to occur between January 28 and February 5. We have heard from a number of individuals that trees were not picked up. Republic will be coming back around to pick up the trees they missed. While they are hoping to do so sooner, the latest pickups will occur is Thursday, March 7. If your tree was missed, please leave your tree out on the curb. Trees must be placed at the curb and all lights, stands, and decorations must be removed and trees should not be placed in any type of bag. If your tree is not picked up, please contact Republic Services at (801) 785-5935.

Volunteer Appreciation & Recruitment Event - April 11, 2019
We are pleased to host our first Volunteer Appreciation & Recruitment Event.  Please join us at 7pm at City Hall for an Ice Cream Social.  We will honor our current volunteers and learn about all the various way to volunteer in the city. You will be able to sign up as a city volunteer that night

Easter Egg Hunt & Cookie Decorating - April 20, 2019
The annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt & Cookie Decorating will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019! Come join the Youth City Council at 9:30 a.m. at Heritage Park (5381 W 10400 N) for the Easter Egg Hunt. Then come to the pavilion to decorate cookies with the Highland Arts Council. It’s going to be so much fun! This year we have over 8,000 stuffed eggs!! Come prepared for the weather and bring your Easter Baskets.

Hooked on Fishing - Thursdays April 18-May 23, 2019
The Hooked on Fishing program focuses on educating youth (6-13 years old) about fishing and aquatic resources. The program is held on Thursday evenings in May each year. Please go to the Hooked on Fishing page for more information and to sign up to be a fishing instructor.

Spring Clean-Up - May 3 &4, 2019
The annual Highland City Spring Clean-Up will take place May 3 - 4, 2019 from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. at the parking lot at the mouth of the American Fork Canyon.

Dumpsters will be available so you can dispose of metal, wood, and household waste. No green waste or hazardous waste will be accepted. Scouts and other groups are welcome to help city crews during this time and earn community service hours! If you are interested in volunteering, contact our events coordinator at or 801-772-4507.

Highland City Community Open House - May 2, 2019
The Highland City Community Open House is held in May at City Hall. You'll get to:

Pumpkin Walk - October 28 & 29, 2019
Come to Highland City's annual pumpkin walk. Hundreds of expertly carved pumpkins will be on display.  Amateur carving and decorating contest  is new this year!  Bring your pumpkins between 2:00pm - 5:00pm on Oct 29th for entry.  Winners announced Oct 30th at 6pm.  Free Hot Chocolate & Cookies provided by Meiers!  Halloween movies hosted by the Library.  The event will take place in the Town Center Splash Pad. October 28th & 29th 2018 6:30 - 9:00 PM

Senior Citizen's Appreciation Dinner - October 24, 2019
The Highland Youth City Council invites all Senior Citizen's 60 & over to the annual Young At Heart Appreciation Dinner. This event will be held on October 24, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Highland City Hall.  The menu will be posted approximately a month prior to the event.  This is a FREE event for Highland Seniors.  RSVP encouraged, but not required to 801-772-4507 or

Christmas Crafts Day with Santa -December 7, 2019
The Highland Arts Council and Youth City Council invites Santa to come to the Community Center, 5378 W 10400 N, Highland, UT 84003 on the first Saturday of December (December 7, 2019) each year from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. During this time the Arts Council will be hosting the Children’s Christmas Crafts Day with children’s craft projects ranging from free - $1.50 per craft.
